Where to stay in Santiago Chile, Meridiano Sur Petit Hotel.
I stayed in the Meridiano Sur, Petit Hotel for two nights last week in Santiago. Located in Providencia, the heart of a cool section of the city with plenty of street life and restaurants. It is only two blocks from the Manuel Montt metro stop. The Meridiano has 7 rooms ranging from a single for $80 USD to the spacious loft, $270 USD that can sleep four or more. It has a Flat screen TV ( as do all rooms ) a living room and a small kitchen. It is a cozy boutique hotel, with a beautiful garden that feels like someones home. The rooms are comfortable and the whole place is spotless, there are two house computers, free wifi, and a free breakfast. All the people at the desk spoke some English and were extremely helpful. This is a place where you rub elbows with other travelers. When I came down one morning there was a couple sleeping on the lobby couches who had come in from Australia at 4;00 am. I met a father and Son from the mid west who had come to trace their family heritage in Valparaiso and a woman from Copenhagen who was working inspecting fruit and vegetables. This is the hotel I hope to find when I am on the road.
