Peter Matthiessen

Peter Matthiessen was one of the key note speakers this past week end at the “Western Socially Engaged Buddhism Symposium”, at the Zen peacemakers in Montague MA. He was on the Arts for Social Change panel along with Beat Poet Anne Waldman; actor Jeff Bridges (The Dude), and local performance artist Court Dorsey. What a crew. I have enjoyed all of these peoples work, but Peter’s books, “The Snow Leopard”, and “At Play in the Fields of the lord”, had a profound effect on me. They launched me into a life of travel.
