Shanghai spicy frog soup

Shanghai spicy frog soup at first seems to be an impossible thing to eat. Most of the food I encountered in China was rather mild and in Shanghai was generally sweet but this met all my expectations of what I had hoped I would experience in Chinese cuisine. It was a deep rich and flavorful broth and even though every bite included red chili peppers it was perfectly balanced with  chili flavor rather than just spicy heat. Frog tastes like chicken with the texture of lobster. It was fantastic.
