Las Fallas Burning, Valencia 2011

The Lass Fallas festival in Valencia ends in fevered pitch with fire works and the burning of the 350 paper mache statues around the city.Each neighborhood elects two sets of Queens, a woman and a younger girl, 12 of which are chosen to attend the the burning of the children’s Falla. As it crumbles to the ground, their year of honor and work comes to an end with a flood of emotion and tears.
