R.I.P. Daniel Ellsberg
I shot this photo of Daniel at the Nuclear Test Site in Nevada in 1989. We had both recently attended Abbie Hoffman’s funeral. He gave a moving eulogy that evening in the desert. My mother and I had met Daniel in Las Vegas two days beforehand to drive to the site where they would be arrested in protest of Nuclear weapons. I was so proud of my mother, and we were both awed by Ellsberg’s intellect, commitment to the truth, and willingness to put himself on the line for his convictions. He was a true patriot.
