Vermont Yankee Protest Vigil
Over 60 people people held a Vigil at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power plant in Vernon today, lining the road up to the entrance. This was just one many actions held in Vermont and around the world in an effort to shut down Nuclear power. Last Thursday, over 1000 people marched from Brattleboro to the corporate headquarters of Entergy and over 160 people were arrested. As some one said to me today, the arrests were so calm and coordinated between the protesters and the police that it put the “civil” back in civil disobedience. Above sheriff Keith Clark talks with protesters at the Vigil today. Here is a link to evacuationplans.org to find out more
